Discovery Junction is a warm, modern, sustainable early learning environment where children from 3 months to 5 years can develop, socialise and prepare for when they start school.
Our Centre
Some call it a kindergarten, preschool or day care, but we like Early Learning Centre because our focus is always on development and play.
Located in Opawa, opposite St. Mark’s School, the design and layout of our building, and how it’s resourced is centred around providing our children with the maximum potential to learn, play, socialise and grow. Outdoors, there is a really fun area with an emphasis on natural play. There are places to climb, slide, and jump, as well as sensory experiences like a sandpit, water-play, and plant beds.
Our aim is to run our business with sustainability at the forefront. One way we are doing this is by striving to be virtually paper free; the majority of our admin being done via digital technology. Our kitchen is modern, providing healthy, nutritious meals. The fuel that young brains and bodies need to get the most out of every day.
Our Rooms
We have four age appropriate areas, to cater for young minds at their various developmental stages. These areas are packed with lots of games, puzzles, arts supplies, books, mirrors, and playthings crafted from natural materials.
Programme
Our emphasis is always on play; believing that learning should be fun. We work in collaboration with families to nurture children’s growth and development so they can learn and discover in a positive and secure environment.
Being in a warm, friendly, natural setting, our children can explore the environment, developing life skills through gradual, guided physical and intellectual risks. And our teachers are always on hand to provide plenty of support and smiles.
Every child is unique. We strive to cater to individual learning styles and encourage them to experience and grow at their own pace. It’s all about being able to discover the world around them.
